LKFF.fun
The LKFF.fun team is doing well at the moment and with our main team of dnfreak, sjook, cruciax, djinx and chatfragger with unicious and myself as the occasional backup, things are going very fine.
Blur and neobeatz are inactive and unicious claims to be inactive too.
LKFF1
LKFF1 on the other hand is currently in a bit of bad weather. Ever since the departure of a few members in the last week of December 2009 things have been very dynamic and unfortunately we've not been able to get a stable team again with several people joining/leaving in the past 4 months.
That is why we are currently (again) looking for new European-based members who are interested in and capable of playing Quake Life CTF on the highest level in our almost 11 years old clan.
For the time being we have decided to leave the BiBS and ClanBase league and cup that we were competing in.

In South Korea the StarCraft community is huge. eSports is extremely big there and the well-known players are on a comparable level to regular sports stars or even movie stars. The StarCraft players often have (CRAZY) fans and need bodyguards to get to venues, etc.. According to the Dutch website NU.nl players make something like 85.000 euro a year.
Now however a huge gambling scandal has been uncovered which already started in 2006. Players losing on purpose on request of the big gambling portals has come to a climax in 2008. The police has gotten involved and due to privacy regulations its not allowed to post names in South Korea, but one of the names mentioned is Ma Jae-Yoon a.k.a. sAviOr (or previously IPXZerg), and often called The Maestro by his fans.
Other involved players are the bigshots sponsored by Samsung and SK.
It looks like criminal prosecution will be the final result...

A new column entitled "LKFF2 vs Vortex CB CTF Div2" has been written.
Last Sunday LKFF2 played its first Clanbase league match versus the Spanish clan 'Vortex'.

Community manager SyncError from id software has announced that the aprils fool joke (with some odd servers) has now become an actual real idea.
Following the April Foolery with our Quick Match servers, we decided it would be a fun worthwhile experiment to run oddball servers for short periods of time. On a somewhat regular basis we will begin running these '???' servers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These weekend only servers will always be unranked (no stat reporting) with a non-standard rule set. Sometimes we will only make small changes to the standard rules, while other times the changes may be a bit more extreme and zany.
This weekend we have decided to run Clan Arena servers with the following settings:
100 Health / 100 Armor
No Self-Armor Damage
No Team Damage
Falling Damage Enabled
Roundlimit 5
Head to the match browser and look for the '??? CA 100/100' servers for some weekend fun.
I did see some Large ClanArena 10 vs 10 servers popping up lately, but the ??? servers I didnt see yet. 100/100 is not 100 vs 100 unfortunately ;) but so it only refers to having 100 health, 100 armor.

The ClanBase Quake Live CTF OpenCup Spring 2010 is about to start. The groups have been published and scheduling is possible from now on.
LKFF1 is in the Premier League group B and the opening match will directly be against one of the strongest teams: team YoYotech, YYT.
LKFF.fun is only one division lower and also in group B: Second League group B. The opening match for our 2nd squad is against the unknown Spanish team Vortex, vtx.

At the BIBS website the seedings for the upcoming season have been announced.
LKFF1 is put in Div1b, LKFF.fun is in Div3b.
For LKFF1 we're still considering to recruit another player due to inactivity of the oldschoolers. If you consider yourself a division 1 standard level player and you want to join one of the oldest clans alive in Quake, then come check us out in #LKFF on QuakeNet irc :)
The Bring it Back Safely league is expected to be starting next week.

LKFF1
After that Sc00T and deji left in the first week of 2010, we needed a new player for LKFF1 and that became xCal from Sweden (known by FOE fame...). Unfortunately xCal decided last week that he is too busy with work for being able to actively play Quake Live. So he went inactive again after having been with us for only 3 weeks. From our other Swedish guys, Poomer decided to quit as well and moved to the clan of Swedish friends called 404.
This meant we still had to recruit someone for the new BiBS and CB seasons and we found du4l, an ancient Q2 player, to be the best candidate for the job.
This means our team now is: Raideniza, Reeseend, Soulreaver, du4l and snajp. And we're still interested in another active player for our div 1 team.
LKFF.fun
The fun team has been inactive since the end of the previous seasons of CB and BiBS, but with the restart of these 2 leagues, people have woken up from their wintersleep again and hey guess what, we have a team again :) To make sure we'll have an active squad, we did recruit 2 new guys. Djinx, also an oldschool Q3 player like most of us and cruc1ax who is a bit new to CTF, but learning very quickly.
This brings our team now to RiGHT, DNFreak, Sjook, djinx, cruc1ax and of course the oldschoolers chatfragger (who still needs to install his QL update as he has not played since December ;) ), unicious (who is a full time Macintosh lover these days (TRAITOR!) and part-time Android) and possibly also neobeatz although he has disappeared some time ago.

Believe it or not, but all 3 are... Dutch! YAY! :)
So LKFF.fun is still fully Dutch, LKFF1 is now 50% NL again after having been 50% Swedish for a short while ;)
